2023 Chevrolet Malibu

There are four available trims with the 2023 Malibu, starting with the LS, RS, LT and the premium 2LT. The LS kicks off with proximity keyless entry, power outside mirrors, and alloy wheels. It's followed by the RS with its rear spoiler and chrome grille surround with black grille inserts. Next is the LT, which sports 17-inch wheels, a remote engine start, and LED daytime running lamps. Finally, the 2LT comes with 19-inch aluminum wheels and LED headlamps.

The LT and 2LT trims offer many stylish packages. The Sport Edition, which offers unique black styling, 19-inch wheels, and a leather-wrapped shift knob. The Midnight Edition has the same features as the Sport Edition, but only comes in a Mosaic Black Metallic exterior color. The Redline Edition adds unique black styling, 19-inch wheels with red hash marks, red outline styling, and a leather-wrapped shift knob.

The new Malibu is only available with a single powertrain and front-wheel drive. It features a 163-horsepower turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). The trusty engine gives off 184 pound-feet of torque and has a combined mpg of 30.

The midsize sedan handles city driving well with a comfortable and composed ride. It absorbs most bumps in the road and the electric power steering system is responsive and consistent. Highway driving is pleasurable, providing stability, control, and an easy driving experience.

The Malibu features the Chevrolet Infotainment 3 system, which has a reputation for quick and intuitive response to inputs. The cabin comes standard with an 8-inch touch screen, Bluetooth, a Wi-Fi hot spot, a six-speaker stereo, a USB port, and Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility.

Front seats provide good support and the LT trim offers a power-adjustable driver's seat. There's plenty of leg room in the back for passengers with up to 38 inches. The trunk is spacious with 15.7-cubic feet of space.

The Chevrolet 2023 Malibu has not yet been fully tested by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). The NHTSA has, however, rated the 2023 Malibu four stars in the rollover test and five stars in the frontal crash test.

The new Malibu's exciting new safety features are GM's Teen Driver that allows parents to set speed and audio volume limits for teenage drivers and Buckle to Drive that prevents the vehicle from shifting out of park for twenty seconds when the driver's seat belt is not strapped. Other standard driver-assistance features include a rearview camera, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, and automatic high-beam headlights. Other available driver-assistance features are blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.
