The 2024 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD: Heavy Duty, Redefined

Performance

The Silverado 2500 HD comes with a 6.6L V8 gas engine that’s paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. You can expect an impressive 401 horsepower at 5200 rpm and 464 lb.-ft. of torque at 4000 rpm from this combination.

There’s an available 6.6L V8 Duramax Turbo Diesel engine that provides an even more awe-inspiring performance. This engine is also paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and boasts 470 horsepower and 975 lb.-ft. of torque. With this engine, you can reach a maximum towing capacity of up to 22,500 pounds!

Exterior

The new Silverado has a roll-formed high-strength steel DuraBed that can withstand abrasive materials like rocks or gravel. There are twelve fixed cargo tie-downs rated at 500 pounds per corner, meaning you can haul extra-heavy cargo. The cab-mounted cargo area lamps make it possible to get jobs done after dark, and the CornerStep rear bumper helps you climb into your truck bed with ease.

Towing

The 2024 Silverado 2500 HD is built for towing trailers, boas, and other vehicles. The Trailering Package offers everything you need for towing, including a trailer hitch, trailering hitch platform, a 2.5-inch receiver hitch, 4-pin and 7-pin connectors, a 7-wire electrical harness, and a 7-pin sealed connector.

The Hitch Guidance feature uses a rear vision camera and radar sensors to give you a continuous view of your trailer and hitch. When lining your trailer up to the hitch, Hitch Guidance gives you a visual guideline to create perfect alignment.

Connectivity

Inside your new Silverado, you’ll find a 7-inch Chevrolet Infotainment 3 diagonal touchscreen equipped with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. These connectivity functions allow you to sync your smartphone to your vehicle, giving access to your contacts, text messages, music, and more.

Safety

There are many different safety features in the Silverado 2500 HD, including Automatic Emergency Braking and Forward Collision Alert. Forward Collision Alert monitors the distance between your truck and the vehicle in front of you, alerting you if a collision is imminent. If you fail to hit the brakes, Automatic Emergency Braking kicks and activates the emergency brakes for you.

The Silverado has six airbags, including dual-stage front airbags for the driver and front outboard passenger. Other safety features include Buckle to Drive, StabiliTrak, Lane Departure Warning, Following Distance Indicator, and Front Pedestrian Braking.
