Every new Chevy is protected by a range of warranties that provide comprehensive protection in the unlikely event of a manufacturing issue. If your Chevy develops a problem caused by the materials or labor used in its manufacture, it will be corrected by any Chevy dealer in the US. We want to tell you more about how this Chevy warranty protects your investment.

Bumper-To-Bumper Coverage

This warranty covers the majority of systems and components in your Chevy. Some systems and components have different coverage periods as we’ll see below. Certain situations are not protected by warranty, including accidental damage, damage through misuse, and damage caused by vandalism. Coverage applies for the first three years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first.

The unexpired part of your warranty transfers to the new buyer if you sell your Chevy within the warranty period, provided they live in the US. If you own a Corvette Z06 or an E-Ray, the warranty will not transfer if you sell your Chevy within the first six months of ownership.

Tires

This warranty includes tire protection for your original tires. If your tires fail due to a warranty-related issue, there is no labor charge for replacing and balancing the tire. The cost of a new tire is covered at 100% for the first year, which reduces pro-rate to 20% during the last six months of your original warranty.

Powertrain Component Coverage

This warranty protects your engine, transmission, transaxle, transfer case, and drive system. All covered components in these systems are listed in your warranty manual. They include all internal engine electrical components, the cylinder block and heads, the torque converter and all internal transmission components, and the final drive mounts and axles. Coverage applies for five years or 60,000 miles.

Engine Coverage Exceptions

If your Chevy has a Silverado TurboMax or a 3.0L or 6.0L Duramax Turbo-Diesel engine, your engine has extended coverage for all its components for five years or 100,000 miles.

Hybrid Vehicle Propulsion Battery Coverage

If you have a hybrid vehicle, the propulsion battery pack and all its internal components are protected for eight years or 100,000 miles.

Restraint System Coverage

Your seatbelts, airbags, and all their systems are protected against defects for six years or 72,000 miles.

Surface Corrosion Coverage

All body metal panels in your Chevy are protected against surface rust and corrosion for three years or 36,000 miles.

Rust-Through Corrosion Coverage

Rust-through is rust or corrosion that forms a hole through metal from one side to the other. Your vehicle is protected for six years or 100,000 miles.
