1. Roma’s Italian Restaurant

Located on 1600 W. Tatham Avenue, Roma’s is the top spot in town for homemade Italian-American cuisine, including authentic New York-style pizza. For starters, the fried ravioli and bruschetta, featuring fresh basil, tomatoes, and capers, come highly recommended. Every main entrée is accompanied by freshly baked bread and salad, and include classics like eggplant parmigiana and chicken cacciatore. They also serve up hearty ribeye steaks and veal.

2. Hiro Hiro

If you prefer Japanese for your lunch or dinner, you’ll definitely want to make a stop at this fine establishment on 211 N. Oak Street. You’ll taste the top-notch quality of their rice and fish when you order the Philly and crab meat rolls from their sushi menu. 

Items from their hibachi menu are served with fried rice and veggies. Be sure to try the hibachi steak and shrimp combo or sukiyaki steak, which go great with Hiro Hiro’s homemade yum yum sauce. 

3. Olde Feed Barn 

While traveling down Route 59, you’ll find this incredible burger joint on 1405 S. Kerr Boulevard. With its old-school menu board and dining area, the restaurant is a great example of classic Americana. At up to a pound, their juicy burgers are huge and can be topped with hearty chili, Thousand Island dressing, or mushrooms and Swiss cheese. Whichever option you choose, it’ll go great with onion rings, mac & cheese, or okra. 
Don’t skip out on ordering dessert because their peach cobbler and molten lava cake are to die for!

4. Maria’s Mexican Restaurant

At Maria’s on 220 E. Cherokee Avenue, seating is generous and the portions are huge. That gives you a great reason to load up the whole family into the spacious cabin of your Chevrolet Tahoe and take them there! As soon as you’re seated, you’ll be treated to unlimited chips and salsa. Maria’s menu has all the classics, including a variety of enchiladas, tacos, fajitas, and burritos. 
There’s also Mexican-style T-bone steak, served with fresh tortillas, and grilled chicken breast with guacamole salad. For dessert, try the flan, fried ice cream, or sopapilla, a fried flour tortilla that’s covered in butter, honey, and cinnamon.
