The Chevy Traverse is the perfect marriage of safety and comfort. Read on to find out why the Chevy Traverse should be your next family vehicle.

Advanced Safety Features

Every Traverse has a suite of air bags, LED daytime running lights, a rearview camera, rear child safety locks, LATCH in the second and third rows, OnStar, and Chevy Connected Services. The standard Rear Seat Reminder feature alerts busy parents to check the rear seat after they turn off their vehicle. High-end Traverse models also include automatic emergency braking, following distance alert, forward collision alert, an HD surround-view camera, lane-change alert, lane-keep assist, and blind-zone monitoring.

Parents can use the Traverse’s standard Teen Driver Mode to keep inexperienced drivers safe when they are on the road alone. Teen Driver Mode is activated whenever your teen’s key fob is used to start the vehicle. Once activated, Teen Driver Mode automatically mutes the radio until seat belts are fastened and enforces any limits preset by parents. You can limit audio volume, set speed warnings, and set a maximum speed of 85 mph. Teen Driver Mode also includes Buckle to Drive, a feature that prevents the Traverse from shifting out of park unless the driver’s seat belt is buckled.

Comfortable, Well-Appointed Cabin

The Chevy Traverse’s three rows of seating provide enough room for eight family members and all their stuff. The second and third rows are 60/40 split-folding benches. With all seats occupied, the Traverse provides 23 cubic feet of cargo room. Cargo storage increases to 57.8 cubic feet behind the second row of seats, and 98.2 cubic feet behind the first row of seats. A handy cargo storage tray located under the rear floor provides even more storage. Multiple cubbies and 10 cup holders are strategically placed throughout the cabin for easy access.

The Traverse cabin is quiet, thanks to the active noise cancellation system that blocks out road and engine noise. The infotainment system includes a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, hands-free phone, enhanced voice recognition, Bluetooth connectivity for two active devices, a color touch-screen display, and in-vehicle apps. Controls for the audio system, phone, and cruise control are placed conveniently on the steering wheel. High-end models also include wireless charging and a Bose premium audio system.

If you frequently take long trips with the kids, take advantage of Chevy’s available rear-seat infotainment system. Kids will appreciate the system’s two 8-inch screens, multiple input options, wireless connectivity, two sets of wireless headphones, and remote control. Parents will appreciate the companion app that allows them to control the rear entertainment system without ever leaving their seats.

Power and Performance

Every Traverse is powered by a 310 horsepower 3.6-liter V-6 engine that provides 266 pound-feet of torque. The engine includes stop/start technology to increase fuel efficiency. A nine-speed automatic transmission is standard. The fully-independent suspension provides a comfortable ride, even on the bumpiest road. Electronic stability control and traction control automatically adjust the brakes and torque to maximize traction during emergency maneuvers or when driving on slippery surfaces.
